Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of the compressive strength of mortar using
oil palm shell ash with a fineness level of Zones 0.1, 2, and 3. This research was conducted at the
Civil Engineering Laboratory, Campus C, Bina Darma University. The object used in this study
is the EFFECT OF OIL PALM SHELL ASH AS A CEMENT SUBSTITUTION IN CONCRETE
MORTAR MIXTURE with a percentage of 15% with fineness zones 0.1,2 and 3. The addition of
palm shell ash to the concrete mortar mix has a significant effect on the compressive strength
value, from the results of the mortar compressive strength test with the highest compressive
strength value occurred in the mortar with a mixture of 15% in the fineness zone 3 and was tested
when the mortar was 28 days old with an average compressive strength value of 23.06 MPa but
normal mortar was still higher. the high compressive strength is 25.73 MPa. Testing at the age
of 28 days the highest compressive strength was achieved in the mortar added with palm kernel
shell ash with the 3rd fineness zone which had an average compressive strength value of 23.06
MPa not much different from the mortar used. not added a mixture of palm kernel shell ash which
has an average compressive strength value of 26.06 MPa. In the test for zone specimens 0 the
average compressive strength achieved was at 7 days 12.6 MPa increased at 14 days to 13.53
MPa and again increased on day 28 to 14.53 MPa
