Abstract

Abstract : Increasing the need for electric power can be caused by the addition of new loads, and can also be caused by
the wasteful use of electric power because the lectricity supply of PLN (State Electricity Company) is increasingly
limited, therefore it is necessary to have alternative electronic equipment that can save energy in our own homes
especially bathroom space, the authors make a system design to control the automation of the light switch in the
bathroom using an Arduino-based PIR (Passive Infrared Receiver) sensor to save excessive electricity usage and help
use the bathroom to make it easier to turn on and turn off the lights and exhaust fan automatically . If the PIR sensor
(Passive Infrared Receiver) detects a human movement in front of it, Arduino as a controller and relay as an electronic
switch will work to turn on or turn off the lights and exhaust fan. This tool manages to save electricity usage of 0.059
kWh of usage in a day.
