Abstract

The asphalt concrete (laston) layer is composed of a mixture of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, filler and
asphalt. Aggregate is a fairly dominant component as a constituent material for asphalt mixtures, especially
fine aggregates and cement. The filling material that is often used to make laston is Portland cement. Most
filler materials have a relatively expensive price. For this reason, there is a need for innovation by using a
substitute material that is more profitable and efficient in an arrangement of asphalt mixtures such as
Sawdust Ash (ASK) with a percentage of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% against a mixture of Asphalt Concrete-
Wearing Coarse (AC-WC) layers with a total test object of 30 test objects at an asphalt content of 5.6%.
The method used in this study is guided by the conditions set by Bina Marga 2018 (revision 2). A percentage
of sawdust ash with percentages of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% was used based on the analysis of the levels
of each sawdust ash filler obtained the highest stability value of 1185 kg, flow value of 3.78 mm, VIM of
5.0%, VMA of 17,963%, VFB of 70.33% and Density of 2,302 gr.
