Abstract

Flood is one of the natural phenomena that cause huge losses. Population growth led to the need or increased settlements and land use changes. Rain water infiltration is reduced not only causing floods but also droughts. Therefore, it is necessary to do environmental insightful flood control, such as retention pond. This research aims to plan and analyze the effect of making retention pond for flood control.This study aims to analyze the feasibility y of the retention pond development plan and its drainage network. Based on the calculation of the standard deviation value between the Gumbel method and Log Pearson Type III, the method used in the calculation of the design rainfall is the Log Pearson Type III method. Because it has the smallest standard deviation value. With the design rainfall value obtained is 271.019 mm. In the discharge calculation results, the value of the planned flood discharge is 56.7321m3 / sec. The calculation of the cumulative cumulative debit of the population's gross water is 0.00427 m3 / s. The calculation of the cumulative discharge value is obtained from the sum of the flood plan discharge values ​​and the total gross water discharge. The cumulative discharge value obtained is 56.7363 m3 / s. Based on the calculation of the concentration time of 11.960 minutes and the cumulative discharge of 56.7363 m3 / s, the required retention pond volume is 40,714 m3 with dimensions of 125 x 80 m and a pool height of 4 m.
