Abstract

Concrete is a material used for the construction of building structures, bridges, rigid pavement, dams, and so on. Nowadays technology in the construction sector is increasingly developing in order to realize concrete with high compressive strength quality. This is done by modifying the composition of the concrete appropriately and efficiently. This study discusses the effect of using a superplasticizer for normal concrete with compressive strength of K350. In this study, a superplasticizer in the form of polymer Water-Reducing Admixtures type F (Consol P200 F) was used to make cement content constant, but water content was reduced. Because PCC cement products are growing and dominating the market, this study chose the use of PCC cement. Cylindrical concrete mix design with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm was carried out for 9 samples with superplasticizer, and 9 samples of concrete without superplasticizer.The compressive strength test was carried out on concrete ages 7, 14, and 28 days. The average compressive strength values ​​obtained from concrete with a superplasticizer are 21.64 N/mm2, 26.03 N/mm2, and 32.60 N/mm2. Meanwhile, for concrete without the use of a superplasticizer, the average compressive strength values ​​were 19.86 N/mm2, 25.31 N/mm2, and 30.22 N/mm2. So it can be concluded that concrete with the addition of a superplasticizer has a greater compressive strength value.
