Abstract

When a flood occurs, one of the things to watch out for is the flow of electricity in the house. Because water is one of the conductors of electricity, it is feared that there will be a potential short circuit which could endanger the occupants of the house / building. Therefore, the aim of this research is to design a safety system for the power outlet and switch to avoid fires due to electrical short circuit during a flood. The advantages of this tool are that it turns off the socket and switch automatically when the water reaches a predetermined limit, and you will receive an SMS notification that the socket and switch have been turned off automatically. Relay as a circuit breaker, ultrasonic sensor to determine the distance between objects, and rain sensor to detect water. From the results of tests carried out that the components function optimally, the tool is successful and works and functions properly as expected.
