Abstract

Aggregate planning is a process of determining the level of output or overall production capacity to meet the level of demand obtained from forecasting demand in order to minimize the total production costs. There are two methods in aggregate planning, namely, heuristic methods and optimization methods. The heuristic method for solving problems is one application of a set of rules for the best solution but not necessarily the optimal solution. The advantage is that it is simpler and does not require a process, in this study the author tries two heuristic methods, namely subcontracting and overtime, both methods are applied in solving cases in a company. Based on the results of the study it is known that the overtime method is the right way to minimize expenditure costs with a total aggregate of Rp. 7,216,282,000.
