Abstract

Industry has a level of intense competition in the era of free markets, even at the distributor level. Consumers will feel satisfied with the service of distributors, if the product arrives on time, the right amount and the right quality. PT Lematang Coal Lestari has a problem with the lack of inventory when there is an order and its distribution system, such as delivery time and the number of items delivered to each destination company and the cost of distributing goods. Thus resulting in the occurrence of shortages or excess inventory in the company in question. This study aims to plan the scheduling of product distribution activities so that it is well coordinated which is tied to minimal distribution costs with the optimal number of shipments using the Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) method. DRP is a method to handle the procurement of inventory in a multi-echelon distribution network. This method uses the lot size determination technique. From the results of the study, the distribution of the company's methods in 2018 costs Rp. 2.584.455.835.200. When applying the DRP method, distribution costs Rp. 2.340.133.375.200, - resulting in a decrease in costs up to Rp. 244.322.460.000, - or 9.4%.
