Pengaruh U-Turn Terhadap Kinerja Ruas Jalan (Kasus: U-Turn di Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani, Palembang)

Abstract

Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani is one of the main roads in Palembang. The road segment serves urban centers, offices and schools, therefore the transportation along this segment is susceptible to traffic jam and obstacles which causes delays. The condition is aggravated by the presence of U-turn which causes the delay of the moving vehicles along the road segment. Survey was conducted in this study to evaluate the effect of the U-Turn on traffic volume along the road segment. The survey was conducted for one week (7 days) from Monday to Sunday for 12 hours from 06:00 to 18:00 every day. In this case, traffic delay caused by U-turn (in front of Nagaswida) was analysed and evaluated based LHR (average daily traffic) and traffic delay. The road performance was analysed using 2014 Indonesian Road Capacity Guideline (PKJI) method. This study shows that the presence of U-turn increased the travel time by 13 seconds due to queuing and slow-moving during turning.
